A startling realization:
I cannot passively read about photography and practice it. Reading about various photoshop techniques, posting on forums and the like. I just can’t do it. It’s boring and I feel like I am making no real progress.
I need to be out in the field, surrounded by people that I can actively feed off of and learn from. Face to face. I think this is why I enjoyed college so much and actually felt like I was improving.
Ottawa has a few photography clubs. Maybe I will join one over the summer…
(I also don’t give a fuck about gear, which 90% of forum threads seem to devolve into anyway.)
